Arcopal France 'Scania' ovendish

Arcopal France 'Scania' ovendish, salad bowl or fruit bowl. 

The 'Scania' decor made by Arcopal consists of small flowers in shades of pink and orange. "Scania" was first produced in 1976. 

The first line of this kind of tableware which is called Arcopal France was produced in 1958 by the French company Arc International which is specialized in household items: ARC International. It is made of "opal glass" also known as "milk glass". The dinnerware is white translucent. 

Characteristic for this type of tableware is that it is very strong. It is five times as strong as porcelain. It was made this strong by heating the glass very slowly, and cool it in an instant. You can put it without any problems in the microwave and dishwasher, although we at Retro & Design personally recommend hand washing to keep the colors as fresh as can be.
