Vintage brocant rusk tin "Van der Meulen"

Old rusk tin "Van der Meulen". 

Lovely brocant vintage rusk tin from the ’50s by 'Van der Meulen'. Round cylindrical shape with loose about closing lid. The color is brown / yellow and the bus is decorated with three drawnings on the side: farmer reaps grain; chicken and eggs; farmer milking cow.

On the lid: Breakfast table with rusk and the text: "fijne Friesche tafelbeschuit" Fa v.d. MEULEN & Zn Hallum.

History of Van der Meulen Master Bakers. 

In 1910, Hessel van der Meulen starts a small artisanal biscuit bakery in Ferwerd. Soon the quality is well known in the north of the country. The demand for Van der Meulen Rusk continued to grow and soon expansion is required. The company moved to Hallum, where a large bakery, specially designed for Rusks, will be built under the name of "De Volharding" (Perseverance}.

In 1930the 2nd generation starts with exporting biscuits to America under the motto "the more you eat the more you want!"
