SISO was founded in 1946 by Herbert Sieber and his son Fritz Sieber as dolls and wooden toys company in the GDR. 

Today SISO still enjoys great fame for its beautiful wooden toys, especially wooden toy blocks, horse and carriage, vehicles and Cowboy forts. Plush stuffed animals of this brand are less well known. The SISO name was registered in 1973 with the trademark and had several owners. Today it is part of the Simba Dickie Group.
