Vintage tin by Mackintosh. Golden Toffee Wafers

Old vintage candy tin for Mackintosh Toffee wafers. 

Lovely round large vintage candy tin by Mackintosh for Golden Toffee Wafers. This tin from the 1960s is executed in the main colors yellow and beige.

The outside of the tin and the lid shows an illustration of a bouquet of stylized flowers. The outside of this tin has a diamond pattern a background. Furthermore the tin is decorated with a ribbon in red and yellow wich shows the text Mackintosh Golden Toffee Wafers.

Mackintosh's Toffee is a sweet created by John Mackintosh. 

Mack opened up his sweets shop in Halifax, Yorkshire, England in 1890, and the idea for Mackintosh's Toffee, not too hard and not too soft, came soon after. In 1969, Mackintosh's merged with rival Rowntree to form Rowntree Mackintosh-which merged with Nestlé in 1988. 

The product is or at credited with being over 100 years old.
