Along the garden path of my fathers
When Rien Poortvliet started a new book in which he wanted to record everyday life around the last turn of the century, he came into possession of his family tree by a happy circumstance.

With this, a fascinating journey through three centuries of family history began for him.

ALONG THE GARDEN'S PATH OF MY FATHERS, the report has become a personal meeting of Rien Poortvliet with his ancestors.

Rien Poortvliet
Rien Poortvliet (7 August 1932 – 15 September 1995) was a Dutch draughtsman and painter. Born in Schiedam, he was best known for his drawings of animals.

Poortvliet saw himself as a storyteller in drawings. His drawings told the tale, and at most he added a short caption.

The general public was delighted with Poortvliet's drawings. Some critics thought Poortvliet hypocritical since he painted beautiful nature scenes while being a perfervid hunter.
