Gorgeous vintage JENAer glas casserole with lovely flower pattern. This casserole is from the mid-60s, early 70s. JENAer glas is a heat-resistant and chemically resistant borosilicate glass, developed by Otto Schott in 1887. Today, Jena glass is produced in the Lower Bavarian town of Zwiesel (Germany). 

Marked at the bottom: Schott Mainz JENAer Glas.

Jena is a city in eastern Germany, located on the Saale in Thuringia.

This "heat resistant" users glass has been manufactured since 1920 and sold in Jena under the brand name JENAer GLAS. It was used for both industrial and household applications.
