Van Nelle In 1782 Johannes van Nelle and his wife Hendrica started a shop in coffee, tea and tobacco at the Leuvehaven in Rotterdam. After the death of Johannes van Nelle in 1811, his widow continued the store. In 1813 the widow also died. Son Johannes van Nelle Jr. and his brother-in-law Abraham Goedkoop continued the business under the name De Erven de Wed. J. van Nelle.
