Lovely vase in brown and corn yellow from Scheurich. Scheurich GmbH & Co. KG is a German company in Schneeberg (Lower Franconia) which manufactures ceramic vases and flower pots.
For a long time they were hated for their characteristic sixties and seventies look, but nowadays people truly like these robust vases of West Germany and are much sought after by collectors.

Scheurich always used white clay and marks are almost exclusively moulded. The form number markings are always 3 digits long and followed by the height to the nearest cm.
Scheurich was founded in 1928 by Alois Scheurich and his cousin Fridolin Greulich as a wholesaler in glass , porcelain and ceramics . In 1938 Scheurich settled in Kleinheubach (70 kilometers southeast of Frankfurt ). In 1948 they began with the manufacture of household ceramics.
In 1954 Scheurich stopped the wholesale operations and completely focused on making their own ceramics. Initially this were mainly bowls and ashtrays, but they quickly switched to vases and flower pots.
