Four Dutch poems:

Vrolijk Pasen! Kijk eens gauw!
Eieren in rood, geel blauw...
Ook met spikkeltjes versierd!
Maar wat ons het meest pleziert is Venz hagelschocolade.
Elke dag weer feest... Hoera!

De zomer is een fijne tijd vol vreugde en gezelligheid.
Warm... de stralen van de zon.
Fris... het water in de ton.
En het heerlijkste is elke dag:
Venz, chocoladehagelslag.

Bloempjes plukken in de wei.
Met deze bos is mams vast blij.
Maar... wij worden ook verrast:
'n  buitje Venz komt neergeplast!
Gauw een boterham bestrooid.
Fijner hagelproef je nooit.

"Leg je hengeltje maar weg",
roept zus, we gaan smullen, zeg!
Heerlijk smullen in de boot
met Venz hagel op ons brood.
Dat lust ik wel de hele dag...
Venz-chocoladehagelslag.

Venz is a Dutch brand that is best known for the chocolate sprinkles and similar products such as chocolate flakes.

The company was founded in 1890 in Amsterdam, as a wholesaler in chocolate and confectionery, by Hendrik de Vries. The name Venz is an abbreviation of 'de Vries AND Sons'. When his son Gerard de Vries joins the company, the company will focus more on the production of chocolate and confectionery. This branch is going so well that in 1928 four business premises are required for the entire production.

In 1930 a factory in Vaassen was opened that focuses on the production of sugar products, such as breastplate and lollipops. After a few years the production of chocolate bars, tablets and chocolates are also started. In 1936, Venz starts producing chocolate sprinkles.

In the years 50 to 60, Venz in the Netherlands used Ibbeltje, a creation by Annie MG Schmidt, to sell more chocolate sprinkles. Venz later publicized an advertisement in which the text: It hails, it hails, large grains of Venz. So wonderfully tasty. Venz, Venz, Venz. is sung to the melody of "It rains, it rains". At first the third line of the song sounded " so healthy and delicious ", but after Venz was tipped out for deception, this was changed to " so wonderfully tasty".

Ibbeltje is a character of the Dutch writer Annie MG Schmidt . Ibbeltje is a girl of about 10 years old who lives in a house with her father, her mother and the two cats Rosencrantz and Guildenstern. Her mother is one of the most special people in her environment: she used to be a cat (a big red one), and can therefore talk to cats. A constantly recurring figure is the darling Mr. Pinkepank who cannot miss a dime and tries to put the Katzwijm family in the nail every time.

Ibbeltje appeared simultaneously on the radio as a radio play, and in the weekly Televizier as a story with illustrations by Fiep Westendorp. On the radio the 'radio play' was broadcast by Radio Luxemburg and Radio Veronica . The broadcasts ran from September 1962 to May 1963. These were broadcast again in 1964.
