Vintage 50s - 60s glazed pottery earthenware planter or flower pot. TU Holland 209-3. 

Beautiful pottery planter for a '50s or' 60s interior. White glazed inner and yellow glazed exterior. The glaze has various traces of craquelure which only benefit the beauty of this planter.

Craquelure is the fine pattern of dense "cracking" formed on the surface of materials, either as part of the process of aging or of their original formation or production. The term is most often used to refer to tempera or oil paintings, where it is a sign of age that is also sometimes induced in forgeries, and ceramics, where it is often deliberate, and usually called "crackle". It can also develop in old ivory carvings, and painted miniatures on an ivory backing are prone to craquelure.

Pottery is the ceramic material which makes up potterywares, of which major types include earthenware, stoneware and porcelain. The place where such wares are made by a potter is also called a pottery (plural "potteries").
