Messmer
Messmer, a formerly independent tea company, is now a brand of the East Frisian tea company Laurens Spethmann.

The company has its origins in a delicatessen and supermarket, which was founded on 21 September 1852 by Eduard Meßmer (1824-1910) in Baden-Baden. Messmer soon became the purveyor of Wilhelm von Preußen and his wife Augusta, who had been guests for many years in the hotel of his father, Johann Friedrich Baptist Meßmer, the Messmer Hotel. In 1886 Messmer was able to open a branch in Frankfurt am Main, led by his son Otto Meßmer (1858-1940). Otto Meßmer protected the Meßmer tea brand in 1895.
