A wooden gingerbread mold is a rectangular shape with an image in which cookies can be produced. At the beginning of the nineteenth century, there were steel rollers, which made the production of cookies much easier. As a result, the wooden molds got out of use, although they are sometimes still used in folkloristic events.

Nowadays, the wooden molds can be found again, even on flea markets, for example. Always make sure that it is a mold that is suitable for making gingerbread. Precisely because it is already an old object, gingerbread molds are also often used for decoration. There is often a layer of varnish or stain over it and that makes it unsuitable to use as a gingerbread mold.
