Description
Very nice vintage coffee tin from Flanders by Rombouts. This tin is executed with a hinged transfer lid which has a gold edge with the ornate logo of the company Rombouts.

The decoration of this tin consists of two sides with a diagonally perpendicular black/white line pattern and two sides with a dark red surface bearing the name "Rombouts" with above it a picture of a cup of coffee and the company logo or coat of arms of the firm.

Unusual about this tin is the beautiful combination of the color black/white with red. This immediately catches the eye and gives the tin a striking and distinguished appearance. In short, a tin with a nice combination of colors and styles.

Marked embossed on the underside. Net. 1 KG. and registration number.

Koffie F. Rombouts is a Belgian company that processes and trades coffee. The family business is headquartered in Aartselaar and trades coffee products for retail, catering and offices. The company received the title of court supplier.

The company was founded in 1896, when Frans Rombouts started a coffee roasting house in Antwerp. The company expanded further during the course of the 20th century.

For Expo 58 Rombouts introduced the individual coffee filter, with which individual cups of coffee could be made. In the 1960s the product was put on the market. In 1966 Koffie F. Rombouts received the title of Protected Purveyor of Belgium.

In 1968 the company expanded internationally by buying the French Cafés Malonge. In the 1980s, a number of "Malongo Cafés" opened in France, where people can buy and taste coffee. In 1989 they moved from the old factory on the Rudolfstraat in Antwerp to a new distillery along the A12 in Aartselaar.
