ARK
In 1920 Ark's was a traditional bakery where rusks and gingerbread were made. The ARK family consisted of five sons and two daughters. Two of these sons, Gerrit Jan van Ark and Martinus Johan van Ark, decided to build a factory in 1931
on the Zwolseweg in Heerde, the Netherlands. Ark's Rusk factory is still there today.

At Ark's, in the beginning, only rusks and gingerbread were made. In 1938 biscuit/cookies were added. Ark's delivered to the local bakers and later on to the grocers throughout the Netherlands. Ark's products were particularly popular in provinces such as Overijssel, Zeeland, and Zuid Holland. In 1975 the factory was taken over by 'Bolletje'. Ark's products were a welcome addition to the Bolletje assortment!
