Description
Rectangular vintage Jubilee tin on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the factory in Hoogeveen of Thomassen & Drijver-Verblifa. This tin is equipped with a loose lid with a rolled edge. Made with a longitudinal seam on one of the corners of thetin.

The decoration of this tin consists of a surface of yellow, orange and blue surfaces. Golden interior. On the lid, two photos of the factory in Hoogeveen flanked with colored stripes and a diagonal band containing a year and two logos of Drenthina and TDV. Text: 1925-1975. This tin is in a good vintage condition with normal traces of use and age-related traces of wear.

Thomassen & Drijver-Verblifa (TDV) was a Dutch company that manufactured packaging intended for the food and chemical industry. Thin-rolled sheet steel or aluminum was used for the packaging material. The head office was located in Deventer and the company had factories in Oss, Leeuwarden, Hoogeveen, Krommenie, Zaandam, Amsterdam, Doesburg, Deventer, and Utrecht, among others.

Thomassen & Drijver (T & D) was founded in 1919. In 1952, the Drenthina tin factory in Hoogeveen was taken over. A factory in Oss is also opened in 1953.

In 1964 T & D takes over the Belgian company Sobemi. In 1965, Thomassen & Drijver-Verblifa was the result of a merger of T & D with De Vereenigde Blikfabrieken (Verblifa), a large Amsterdam tin printer that originally came from the Zaan region.
