Vintage biscuit tin and rusk tin by ARK with wildflower decoration. 

These set of vintage tins made by Ark are decorated with a pattern of wildflowers. At the end of the 1950s, the ARK brand name was changed to ARKs.

Description
Beautiful set of two old tins from the ARK biscuit factory in the famous decoration of wildflowers. Both the rusk tin and the biscuit tin have the brand name 'ARK' on the lid.

The decoration of both tins consists of a light creamy yellow background with a decor of wildflowers on both the side as on the lids, such as the poppy, daisy, and cornflower. Flanked by ears of corn.

Condition
This set is in an original vintage condition with traces of use and age-related traces of wear.

ARK
In 1920, Ark's was a traditional bakery that made rusks and gingerbread. The ARK family consisted of five sons and two daughters. Two of those sons, Gerrit Jan van Ark and Martinus Johan van Ark, decided to build a factory in 1931 on the Zwolseweg. Ark’s Biscuit factory is still there today.

At Ark's, only rusks and gingerbread were made in the beginning. In 1938 biscuit/cookies were added. Ark’s initially supplied the bakers and later also the grocers throughout the Netherlands. Ark’s products were particularly popular in provinces such as Overijssel, Zeeland, and South Holland. In 1975 the factory was taken over by Bolletje. The Ark’s products were a welcome addition to the Bolletje range!
