Brocante
The word "Brocante" is originally from French and literally means "second-hand" or "flea market." It often refers to products with an old and used appearance. Brocante is often old and has a weathered character. Brocante are not old enough to be seen as antiques. There are two types of brocante: old and new brocante.
Old Brocante
Old brocante is, as word suggests, old, used and aged. This gives the old brocante a characteristic and weathered appearance, which brings a rural atmosphere. This gives brocante a casual atmosphere to the interior, which makes it very popular. The small "defects" of brocante is also a difference compared to antiques, where this type of "defects" are not desired and are often being repaired.
