Description
Round tin box with an image of cigars and logo for 25 super corona de luxe cigars from Agio cigar factories N.V., Duizel. This tin is equipped with a loose lid with insert edge.

The decoration of the tin consists of a gold-colored background with images of cigars all around. The logo of Agio is on the front and on the back. Just above the bottom is a red banner with the text: 25 super corona de luxe.

The lid is decorated with a red circle with four times the brand name Agio. At the bottom, this tin has three semicircular ball feet which are embossed in the bottom.

Condition
This tin is in a vintage condition with traces of use and age-related traces of wear, especially on the lid.

AGIO
The Wintermans family were cigar manufacturers who were active in Duizel and surroundings from 1904 to 2020.

In 1904, the founder of the family's cigar production, Jacques Wintermans, borrowed 200 guilders from his father and started in Duizel, a cigar factory under the firm A. Wintermans & Zn. In 1908, Jacques' eight-year-younger brother Harrie came as a partner work in the company. In 1925 Jacques' son Adriaan joined the company and in 1926 his brother Marcel followed.

In 1934 Harrie started for himself in the Eersel branch of A. Wintermans & Zn .. Harrie changed his name to the more upscale 'Henri' and founded Henri Wintermans. To avoid name confusion with his brother's company, the Duizelse company introduced the trademark Agio. In 1960 A. Wintermans & Zonen was renamed Agio-Sigarenfabrieken NV. Agio is derived from the accounting term Agio, which means added value.
