Cornelis (Cees) Dekker (1900-1990) was a Dutch artist. In 1923 he was the first designer to work at the Zaanse Koekfabriek Verkade, although he actually wanted to become an independent artist. Dekker went to study art at the Zaandamse Stadstekenschool. He received lessons from Willem Jansen and Jac. J. Koeman and also took courses at the Hendrick de Keyzerschool and the National Academy for Visual Arts in Amsterdam.

The Verkade family quickly realized the influence of effective advertising. The large amount of paper and cardboard packaging, the biscuit tins and biscuit tins and posters designed by Cees Dekker were considerable. Especially known are the advertising posters that praise tea lights, biscuits and long rusks. In addition to his work for Verkade, he made a cover for a program booklet for the Hollandsche Schouwburg in Amsterdam around 1924 as a bookbinding designer (with an advertisement for Verkade!).

Before that, Verkade worked with freelance designers, of which Cees Dekker was one. He designed the famous 1931 biscuit baker and the biscuit tin with nasturtiums. Due to the ever-increasing workload, Dekker was put in charge of the Verkade advertising studio that he led for thirty years with the cooperation of a number of colleagues.

Cees Dekker grew up in a baker's family. The bread shop of the Dekker family was located in the Vinkenstraat in Zaandam. But Cees saw no point in it. He wanted to become an artist, but his father did not see it, Cees had to work to earn money.

First he became an office clerk, also learned to become an accountant, but he intended to become an artist. After a working period at the Hellema paper factory on the East side, he enjoyed his work more. He was even allowed to provide designs there. When, in addition to Verkade, Hille and finally Albert Heijn, Albert Heijn became his customers, Verkade hired Dekker.
