Patria
The NV Biscuitfabriek Patria was taken over in 1957 by Albert Heijn.

Biscuit factory Patria in Amsterdam can boast of having made the Rijksmuseum known to many Dutch families. Many will remember the large biscuit tin - called "biscuits" in some parts of the country - with an image of the Rijksmuseum pressed into the lid, which was found on many living room tables in the 1950s.

At Patria biscuits, rusks and the famous crackers were made. In 1978 the Patria factory on the Haarlemmerweg was in the spotlight throughout the country. The women who worked there campaigned against the closure of the company. They even kept the factory occupied for a week. In the end, the factory closed. It was demolished in 1981.

Verblifa, De Vereenigde Blikfabrieken was a Dutch company that manufactured tin packaging, in addition to sheet iron items, enamel plates, household items, sheet metal and stamping, and cooking and heating items. In addition, plastic articles were also manufactured. The head office was located in Amsterdam and the company had factories in Weesp, Krommenie, Hillegersberg, Doesburg, Dordrecht, Delft, Oudenbosch and Utrecht, among others.

The Vereenigde Blikfabrieken was founded in 1912 and was the result of a merger between two existing Zaanse can factories, the NV to operate Verwer's Fabrieken with the NV Zaanlandsche Blikfabriek v / h Woud & Schaap, both in Krommenie. In 1930 Verblifa acquired practically all the shares in the Woud & Bekkers Blikfabrieken, which under the former name Dordrechtsche Metaalwarenfabriek v / h Wed. J. Bekkers & Zoon continued as an independent company under Verblifa.

In 1936, together with the Dordrechtsche Metaalwarenfabriek v / h Wed. J. Bekkers & Zoon, founded a subsidiary, the NV De Vereenigde Automatenfabrieken V.A.F. in Amsterdam. After the war, a large interest was acquired in the Electro Tin Factory in Leeuwarden in 1949, and together with this company, de Mij became in 1953. was established in Doesburg to manufacture 'Ducaat' heating and cooking appliances. In 1954, Verblifa also started manufacturing plastic items. At that time, the 8 factories and the head office employed approximately 3,450 workers. Ten years later, in 1964, there were still about 2,400 employees, at the end of 1964 Thomassen & Drijver-Verblifa was created from a merger of T & D with De Vereenigde Blikfabrieken.
