The Kellogg Company, often shortened to Kellogg or Kellogg's, is an American food manufacturer. The company, best known for Kellogg's cereal, is the largest producer of breakfast cereals in the United States.
The company's history dates back to 1897, when John Harvey Kellogg (inventor of cornflakes) and his brother Will Keith Kellogg started the Sanitas Food Company to sell cornflakes.
The brothers argued about adding sugar to the breakfast cereal, and in 1906 Will started his own company, the Battle Creek Toasted Corn Flake Company. The company's name was changed to Kellogg Company in 1922. Its headquarters have been in Battle Creek, Michigan, since the company was established in 1906.
