Description
Vintage Tupperware steam bowl from the 1970s. This four-part steam set consists of a brown bottom dish, a white inner bowl that serves as a colander, a divider and a lid. This dish steamer can be used in the microwave to steam vegetables and rice. Excellent product for cooking a healthy meal.

For example, meat can also be thawed, so that it does not lie in its own wet. Ideal as a serving dish and very practical. A "must-have" for the retro kitchen! Can also be used for storing bananas, bread, cookies, etc.… Typical Tupperware design from the 1970s.

This original Tupperware steamer is in a neat vintage condition with normal traces of use and age-related traces of wear. Photos are part of the description.

In 1944 Earl Tupper founded the "Tupperware Plastics Company". This American chemist (from DuPont) was a pioneer in the use of polyethene for household applications. Two years later, Mr Tupper launched his "Wonderbowl", a "miraculous" bowl with a revolutionary airtight closure, which was much lighter and stronger than traditional glass and pottery.

In the early years, the products were for sale in department stores, hardware stores and other shops. But in this way, the exceptional quality of the Tupperware products did not come into its own. After all, nobody took the time to show and explain to consumers the benefits of these airtight and waterproof bowls.

In 1948, Vice President Brownie Wise introduced the Tupperware Home Party, a whole new way of bringing products directly to consumers. In this way, the many possibilities of the products could be personally demonstrated.
