De Gruyter tea canister or cocoa canister with oriental birds
Description
Round high tin storage can for tea or cocoa from De Gruyter, equipped with a loose, slightly overhanging insert lid with an extra inner edge to reinforce the closure. The bottom is seamed inwards and has three semicircular spherical legs expressed in the tin. The decoration of this tin consists of a black background with green, white, red and gold details which are embossed.
The lid is decorated with a flying crane. On the side of the tin are also several cranes in a pool of water with vegetation on the bank. Executed with a seamed longitudinal seam at the back.
This pot is one of a series in the colours black, green and probably also red.
Condition
This tin is in a beautiful vintage condition with traces of use and age-related traces of wear. Photos are part of the description.
