Fondue is a dish in which small pieces of food are immersed in a warm or hot liquid.
Fondue is experienced by many people as a pleasant way to use the meal. All persons sit around the table and dip their fondue forks into the same pan. The meal lasts a long time and people have quiet time to talk to each other, comparable to gourmets. Fondue is therefore also seen as a meal that is often served on special holidays, such as Christmas.
Fondue forks are long forks with usually 2 points to which the food to be dipped is pinned. They also have a wooden handle to prevent people from burning their fingers when the fork is dipped into the fondue.
