Description
High round cylindrical rusk tins with a separate lid. On the lid the logo of Bolletje, the famous baker designed by Maarten Toonder. The decoration of these tins consists of a cream-white background with on each bus two images of a character from the well-known children's TV series "The Daily Fable".
- Droos the Bear en Stoffel the Turtle.
- Mrs. Stork (Cato) en Truus the Ant.
- Bor the Wolf en Zoof the Hare
- Mr. Raven (Crox) en Lowieke the Fox.
On all four tins, there is an image of Mr. Owl (Jacob) in the middle on a green or pink tree. These tins have now become true classics and true collector's items!
Condition
This set of four rusk tins is in a good vintage condition with traces of use and age-related traces of wear.

De Fabeltjeskrant, Dutch for "The Fables Newspaper" is a Dutch children's television series featuring puppetry and stop motion. Created in 1968 it was broadcast also in the United Kingdom, on ITV, with the title The Daily Fable.
Each episode is based upon fables of Jean de La Fontaine, Aesop, Phaedrus and also by the series' scenographer. The main character, the owl "Meneer de Uil", introduces each episode reading a fable to other characters upon a tree. The scene is a forest inhabited by different anthropomorphic paper animals and the first episode was broadcast on 29 September 1968 on NOS.
