Caballero is a Dutch cigarette brand, and is produced by the tobacco manufacturer British American Tobacco (BAT), which besides this brand also manufactures Lucky Strike and Barclay. Caballero is the Spanish word for knight.
The advertising agency Prad, founded in 1945, launched the slogan "Caballero, different from others", whereby initially well-known Dutch people from mainly artistic circles have to promote the product (Ramses Shaffy, the young Jeroen Krabbé and Henk van Ulsen, for example, who later explained in not to smoke at all).
There were different types on the market, such as regular and light.
Caballero cigarettes were packaged in cartons or packs of 24, 25 (plain) and 27 cigarettes.
