Koninklijke Peijnenburg B.V., known for the beloved brand names Peijnenburg and Wieger Ketellapper, is a leading producer of gingerbread. With locations in Geldrop and Sintjohannesga, this company has a rich history. In 1983, the company received the prestigious "Koninklijk" (Royal) designation.

The origin of this company dates back to 1883 when Harry Peijnenburg opened a bakery in Geldrop. Gradually, the business grew, and in 1915, a split occurred. Son Harry took over the bread and pastry, while son Johan (nicknamed "Mijnheer Han") specialized in cookies and confectionery. In 1917, the cookie factory was established under the name De Bijenkorf. With 22 employees, a new location was occupied in 1920, where the company steadily grew. In 1952, the company was converted into a public limited company, and in 1954, a new factory was put into use, still located in the heart of Geldrop.

Peijnenburg is known for its artisanal quality and craftsmanship, which has been passed down through generations. Peijnenburg gingerbread has become an iconic product and is beloved by many. With carefully selected ingredients and a traditional production process, Peijnenburg continues to deliver the taste and quality it has been known for for decades.
